30th Anniversary, Ia Drang Battles, Nov 1995

This historical reunion, held over Veteran's Day Weekend, was attended by well over 200 veterans of the Battles. Highlights were:
  • A march down the Vietnam Wall, during the Ceremonies at the Wall, on Veteran's Day and recognition in the program
  • Ia Drang Banquet. Guest speakers were the legendary 1st Squadron, 9th CAV Commander in the 1965 Pleiku Campaign battles - COL John B. Stockton (USA-RET) and his Squadron Sergeant Major, CSM Larry Kennedy (USA-RET) Note: COL Stockton died in August, 1997
  • The reading of the 235 names of the men who were killed in the Pleiku Campaign, Oct - Nov 1965.

    This solemn event is the highlight of the annual reunion over Veteran's Day. It is conducted at Daybreak at Panel 3 East on which all the names are inscribed. Galloway and Moore do the reading after which all attendees form a circle, heads down in prayer for a minute of silence. Then, anyone who desires to do so, can make comments. The 1st Cavalry Division Color Guard, attired in 1870's Horse Cavalry uniforms, is always present.

Cost is $20; of which $10 goes to the Ia Drang Scholarship Fund for children of the men who fought in the Ia Drang Battles. This fund was founded by Galloway and Moore in late 1993. Information on it and the application forms for scholarship awards can be obtained from:
